Between the frenzy of Art Basel Paris and the calm of fall settling in, this week’s art reads are all about the artists making, pushing, and breaking.

Another wild week in the world of art. Between the so-called “heist of the century” and Art Basel Paris (plus satellite fairs), the headlines overflowed. And yet, the rest of the art world didn’t slow down one bit.

As the weather cools and our instinct is to do the same, I’m so thankful for the artists who resist that pull—who keep making, keep pushing, and keep breaking. Boundaries, norms, expectations.

I was SUPER lucky to see a bit of this restoration process at MoMA behind the scenes this summer, thanks to a friend of a friend (shout out Zoe and Mario, who run Gern en Regalia). The detail, care, and technology involved completely changed my appreciation for major art institutions. This is 1000% worth a read.
